| The DC.gov portal was named Best of the Web by the Center for Digital Government, a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in state and local government. The 2005 award represented an unprecedented second win for the DC portal, which won just two years ago in 2003—and was ineligible in 2004 because of its win the previous year. Filnet played a key role in both the development and design of the coveted portal. |

| Happenin' Habitats won the “Distinguished Achievement Award for Best Science Website” from the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). The e-learning website was designed and developed by Filnet, the National Wildlife Federation, and Prince William Network (PWNet) and sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation. Prince William Network (PWNet) is the distance learning arm of Prince William County Schools—the second largest school district in the Commonwealth of Virginia. |

| 2005 - AEP Beacon Award Finalist for Web and Marketing |
| Prince William Network’s Teen Smart Driver website was a “Web/Marketing” finalist for the AEP Beacon Awards, which honors excellence in marketing media created specifically for the multibillion dollar education industry. The Prince William Network (PWNet) is the distance learning arm of Prince William County Public Schools—the second largest school district in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Filnet designed and developed the Teen Smart Driver website. |

| 2004 - NASCIO Recognition Awards - Innovative Use of Technology |
| The 2004 Recognition Award for Innovative Use of technology was presented to DC Guide by the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO). DC Guide is a GIS program whose interface design was facilitated by Filnet.
Before the DC Guide was launched, residents, businesses and visitors had to use several sources to find specific District information. Other tools, such as the trip planner, custom neighborhood maps and business locators were not available to the public at all. Now, Internet users have a website that is a single, free source for finding the locations of all government services, businesses and attractions in DC, as well as maps and turn-by-turn directions. |
